Eighth Day Symposium
A mere Christian gathering for the renewal of heart and mind, this conference has grown from a local one-day conference to a two-day event with a festal banquet that celebrates a hero of the faith. Today folks are traveling in from all over the country. Click below to check out the themes we've addressed at past Symposia and to
get information about the next one - it's the thirteenth
annual Symposium!

Ad Fontes Academic Conference
(formerly known as Florovsky-Newman Week)
Returning to the sources for Christian unity
, this conference is inspired by two great pastor-theologians who loved the Church Fathers: Fr. Georges Florovsky (20th cent. Orthodox) and Blessed John Henry Newman (19th cent. Catholic). Each year we intentionally engage the doctrinal issues that divide Catholics, Orthodox, and Protestants. Find out how you can join the dialogue of love and truth! June 5-8, 2024
Inklings Oktoberfest
A celebration of literature, local culture, and Eighth Day Books,
this annual festival promises to be sheer festal delight! In addition to the annual Inklings Lecture, there are seminars that range from cheese-making to story-telling, a walking tour with toasts to the Inklings at local micro-breweries, an Inklings cartography and writing contest for young folks, activities in the land of Narnia for children, and live music with beer-tastings from local brewers to wrap things up.
Feast of St. Patrick
Commemorating Christ and His servant Patrick the Enlightener of Ireland, for eleven years and counting this has been a day filled with live music, bagpipes, toasts to St. Patrick, Irish beer and whiskey tastings, prayers & readings from St. Patrick, and a hearty
Irish meal that seals this festal deal.
Hall of Men
Remembering the heroes of old , this bi-monthly meeting provides a local fellowship hall where the men break bread, tap the keg, and toast their heroes.
Sisters of Sophia
Walking with women of wisdom,
this group of ladies come together each month for a gathering that is
both challenging and refreshing.
St. John of Damascus Award
Honoring exemplars of cultural renewal, this annual event is inspired by our patron saint and our mission to renew culture through faith and learning.
Feast of the Nativity
Sometime in December of 2009, we organized an evening of music, carols, poetry, lessons, and prayer
to celebrate the Forefeast of the Nativity. And we've been doing it ever since. If you're an Eighth Day Member, there will be a link here to learn about and get tickets for the upcoming Nativity Feast. If you're not yet a member, join the community and then join us for the feast.
