FLAGSHIP PROGRAMS OF THE INSTITUTE
hall of men
& sisters of sophia
Hall of Men and Sisters of Sophia are where robust, face-to-face, real ecumenism happens all year long. Each group meets to share a meal, learn about a hero of faith, and simply enjoy one another.
Presenters can choose a hero of faith from any Christian era and from places you might not expect. Canonized Catholic and Orthodox saints are presented alongside not only contemporary Protestant theologians but novelists, musicians, brewers, Olympic sprinters. Here is probably the only place in the world where you will find the lived theologies of the Prophet Elijah, T.S. Eliot, Mother Theresa, and Dorothy Sayers thoughtfully and prayerfully discussed under one roof. Grab a pint or a glass of wine, find your seat at the long center table, and get to know the faith of your neighbors past and present.
