From Louis Markos' presentation: "God is omnipresent. He’s everywhere. So where are you going to go if you don’t want to be with God? Borrowing from Lewis and Dante, we could say that it’s an act of love that God made hell because He carved out one area of the universe where He is no so that people who do not want to spend eternity with God will have someplace to go. … If we don’t want to be with God, He will not force us to be with Him. He will leave us alone. And ultimately hell is being radically and existentially alone."
In an isolating secularized culture where the Church's voice is muffled through her many divisions, Christians need all the help they can get to strengthen their faith in God and love toward their neighbor. Eighth Day Institute offers hope to all Christians through our adherence to the Nicene faith, our ecumenical dialogues of love and truth, and our many events and publications to strengthen faith, grow in wisdom, and foster Christian friendships of love.
